Printing a document just to sign and re-scan it wastes time and paper, and often produces a worse-looking signature than placing it digitally. Signing directly on the PDF keeps the document crisp and takes under a minute.
Steps
Open the Sign PDF tool and upload your document
Choose how to create your signature: draw it with your finger or mouse, type your name in a signature style, or upload a photo of a signature on paper
Position the signature on the page - drag it to the signature line and resize as needed
Apply and download the signed PDF
Getting a clean signature
For a photo of a hand-signed signature, write on white paper in good light and crop tightly with the Image Cropper first
Drawing on a touchscreen produces smoother signatures than a mouse
Place the signature so it does not overlap existing text or checkboxes
If the document has several signature lines, add the signature to each page needed
A note on validity
A drawn or placed signature image is an electronic signature that shows you signed the document. It is accepted for most everyday paperwork (forms, approvals, internal documents). Some legal filings require a cryptographic digital signature from a certified provider - check the recipient's requirements.
