About CSV to Excel

CSV is the simplest possible table - plain text, one row per line, commas between cells. Every system can import it, but humans cannot really work in it: no sorting UI, no formulas, no formatting. This tool parses your .csv into a real .xlsx spreadsheet you can sort, format and compute with.

How CSV to Excel works

  1. Upload your .csv file.
  2. Click Convert - the rows and columns are parsed into a workbook.
  3. Download the .xlsx and open it in Excel, LibreOffice or Google Sheets.

FAQ

My leading zeros disappeared.

Spreadsheets treat "007" as the number 7. Format those columns as text in Excel after converting to keep IDs intact.

What about dates?

CSV stores dates as plain text - check their format after import and re-format the column as a date type if needed.

My file uses semicolons, not commas.

Semicolon-delimited files (common in European locales) are still detected as delimited text; check the first column in the output.
