A Word document is editable by design - fonts substitute when the recipient lacks yours, page breaks shift between versions, and tracked changes can surface awkwardly. A PDF renders identically on every device: what you see is exactly what they get. That is why contracts, CVs, invoices and official letters are almost always submitted as PDF.
Steps
Open the Word to PDF tool
Upload your .docx or .doc file
Click Convert - the document is rendered to PDF on the server
Download and check the first and last pages once before sending
Check these before converting
Fonts: common fonts convert cleanly; exotic fonts may be substituted
Headers, footers and page numbers carry over automatically
Embedded images keep their position but very large images may be downsampled
Comments and tracked changes do not belong in a shared PDF - accept or delete them in Word first
After you convert
If the file is heading to a portal with a size limit, run it through Compress PDF. If it needs a signature, use Sign PDF instead of printing it out.
